When I was asked to choreograph for concert:nova, it was the first time I had prepared something professionally. Unfortunately, I don't have any video of the work to share with you. I simply didn't archive a copy as it didn't occur to me. The annual collaboration between Cincinnati Ballet and Cincinnati Symphony is performed outdoors. The stage is set up in the middle of the garden at the Cincinnati Art Museum.
As you can see in the photo above, the stage and audience are at the same elevation so care had to be taken in the choreography to keep the focus of the piece as high as possible so that it could be enjoyed. Elaborate footwork or floorwork would not have been visible except to the first few rows.
